"A space where the heat of the grill and the cool of the sea exist in perfect tension — and both feel like home."

Leña y Mar arrives in American Fork as something genuinely new: Sonoran fine dining that doesn't apologize for its ambition. The client's vision was precise — honor the elemental drama of fire and ocean without leaning on cliché.

The design responds with restraint and conviction. Blackened timber ceilings and raw lava stone ground the space in the tactile warmth of leña — firewood, smoke, earth. Washed concrete and hand-glazed sea-blue tile carry the counterpoint: the cool, reflexive stillness of mar.

Dramatic murals by a local Mexican-American artist anchor the visual identity. Every material was sourced with intention — many directly from artisans in Sonora and Baja California — making the space as authentic in texture as the kitchen is in flavor.
